anybody know where is the intake temp sencer is at ?

anyone know where is the intake temp sencer is at ?

and if you can post a picture that will help alot.

cause i plan to relocate the sencer to the intake pipe after the intercooler to get

more accurate reading in my intake temp.

since i make a custom cold air intake i want to see how much different does it

make.

if you know how to do that please post here too. it will help me out alot.

thank you everyone.

It's located under the UIM. You can't miss it. I don't recall what color the wire or connector is though, sorry.

I Check On The Two Older Post But We Still Have Not Come Up To An Answer.

But I Still Decide To Relocate The Intake Temp Sencer.

Can Anyone Tell Me How Do I Do That ?

Or If You Have Already Done Can You Please Post A Picture.

And Also Give Me Some Of Your Advice ?

Thank You Again.

Try putting it in the IC outlet tank. If you have a front mount IC this will be much better as the elbow location still heat soaks and will therefore not be accurate under all conditions. Even in the IC the sensor reacts very slow. We removed the black plastic from the sensor tip and found little improvement.

Moving it was relatively easy. Just unplug and cut and splice in two wires to extend it. It seems to make my car run a bit richer when cold (stock ECU), but when up to normal temp, I didn't see any change. I think eventually, I'll pull the manifold for something else, and replace it to the stock location. But for now, I'm OK with it.

I placed mine in the Greddy elbow, even though it heat soaks it's doesn't stay heat soaked as long as it would under the UIM so it reflects a truer reading quicker than if in it's stock location. Not the fastest reacting sensor any way but less chance of it leaning out the mixture when the air is cooler (like it is now) Jack

So At This Point This Mod Is Good Right ?

dgeesaman 11-02-05 09:43 PM

Yes.

I would have to say it's a good mod. Anything that gets you a truer air temp reading will allow the ECU to make the correct fuel compensations and less likely for a detonation problem. Just my $.02

Dunno if you're still looking, but I posted a picture of the air sensor at this thread:

hellokitty812 11-03-05 02:07 AM
