Any successs with M2 traling arms and Toe links?
Ive got a 94 R2 ad let me tell you about how violent my wheel hop is! The car has about 430 HP :p: and to launch it i have to have it at about 4500 R's, but when i engage the clutch you better be hanging on b/c the rear end is going to hop through third.
Ive heard about M2's rear end components and that they are pretty good, so why dont yall give me some feedback. -Chris |
do you get all the bushings when you buy the trailing arms and toe links?
|
I wish I new
I've been eyeing those things myself. I can't even take my car to the track because of wheel hop. One time I idle lauched and punched it at 1500 rpm and still wheel hopped from 1st turbo then got real nasty after 4500rpm, you now about all that though. I have the same question .

I think they will help, but not completely fix the problem. Differential bushings also help. I'm getting a set of TA and TL made by a friend. It won't cost me more than $50 if that. They aren't even hard to make. I showed him the ad on M2's website and he almost had a heart attack at the cost. He said "Holy shit! I'm in the wrong business"

Guys post this stuff on the suspension subforum. That area is dead-ie rarely see new threads and very few people browse it. We need to bring it back to life so I can continue to benefit from it ;)
|
I wish i knew someone who could make me some solid bushings! My kidneys cant take too many more of those crazy wheel hopping launches.

You are better off getting the Pettit Racing's unit instead. It's the exact same thing and it's also cheaper than the M2's unit. Also, M2 customer service isn't that great.
|
I just looked up the pettie racings unit and it cost about 100$ more than the M2 unit, if you know a site where i can get it for the same price let me know.

No rear wheel hip hop
I have new spearical bearings/bushings and the M2 trailing arms & toe links. I do not experience any wheel hop at all.
Whoops, forgot to mention I also use Yokohama A032R street legal drag tires. :D |
i disagree...m2 has give me fantastic customer service. I have had NO problem with them ever. I actually find them to be easy to deal with and very knowledgable...they honestly care if my car is working right. I wish i could say the same for others out there.
I had good experiences dealing with pettit too...actually got an honest response to my questions..not one that led to sales. I do find m2 products to be superior in craftsmanship...though both seem to have equal function....in general. I have the m2 set on my list of needs already. j |
You can get both (Pettit or M2) from Jason or Mike at the Rx-7 Store. Just ask what the best deal is. Make your life easy.

Work great for me on the street and at the track (road course, not drags).

I think i will give rx7.com a call tomorrow and see what they can do for me. I know that they are really knowledgeable about their products.

I used chrome-moly and only the very best rod ends......mine came out to a very pricey $800. I've updated them since these pics i'll post and boy what a work of art. I'll post new pics soon. We've done some really crazy mods to my car that i can't really say too much about right now.......but after SEMA i think people will know;) |

Do stock RX-7's have the same problem with wheel hop as I am, or is it only the highter HP cars? I purchased mine with some of the mods done to it so i really dont know. I think im either going to get Nitto 555r's or yokahama AO32R's those bad boys are going to bite!

rod ends
I made my own toe links and will be working on the trailing links this weekend. The toe links made a marginal improvement on launches, but they really helped cornering. My car actually takes a set and stays there. A side note, aurora rod ends are very good. Never skimp on suspension rod ends. A failure can put you in a wall.

Originally posted by maxcooper I've priced the rod-ends and they seem to be about $25 each. I think Aurora is the brand I was looking at. Do you have a cheaper source?
