any reliable ignition switches?

so got the car with a failing ignition switch, plastic electronic piece at the end, so found a used one. it worked for awhile and gave out. so ordered a brand new one from atkins rotary and it was doa right out of the bag. searched and see this is a common issue.....but didnt find any solid answer on a good reliable one, oe mazda or otherwise. I ate the $60 the atkins one cost me since they make returning stuff a hassle and opened it up. I bent up the internal copper contact rings and with a with a dvom I continuity tested the posts in various key switched positions until I got it working. even then its still spotty for ign2 position if tightened to the key cylinder to much. so again is there ANY reliable ignition switches available? I'd like to stay away from push button and still retain the stock key....as it also works my door and trunk lol

Have you emailed Ray Crowe to see if he can get them?

Also I know at one point Rock Auto was selling them they were actually OEM parts with Mazda part numbers and they were a reasonable price.

I havnt tried ray crowe yet. I thought buying "brand new" from atkins was legit but the switch was DOA. would a ray crowe or even a rock auto one be any better?

I was looking at one from early 90s hondas as they are round plastic with slot in middle (obviously have to customize it to fit). it just seems any one of these ignition switches, from anywhere, is a crap shoot.

Atkins sometimes gets parts from iffy sources. I'd trust one from Ray for sure. Rock Auto (if they have them) did have brand new OEM parts in the box that many have had good luck with.

well thats good to know about atkins. rockauto has a beck/arnley brand one. I will try and email Ray Crowe and see what hes got as that seems to be the general consensus to get stuff from. thanks

I think the Beck/Arnley one is the one that came in a B/A box but inside the switch was in a bag with a genuine Mazda parts sticker and part number.
