another oil leak found... what do i need to buy???

while changing the spark plugs, i think i found another source of an oil leak. it is coming from some type of grommet or bolt thingy that is about an inch above where the front trailing spark plug taps in to that side of the engine. what is the part located there? i think there are some wires coming out of it, but i cant really get too clear of a view of it. thanks in advance.

Well, I have a leak right around the same area. However, I think it's coming from the top of the housing directly above the trailing plug where an Oil Cooler line taps into the front housing. So, in my case it's an oil cooler line. I believe there are two places that they go into at the top of the front housing.

I think you're refering to the knock sensor, it's directly above the front plugs. But I can't really see that this is the source of the leak, the knock sensor is not a part of the lubrication system. As far as I know!

thanks for your replies. so, is it impossible for oil to be dripping out from that fitting? if so, where should i look around that general area for the oil to be coming from?

Damn. that sucks. well, at least your car moves. Shit, if its not one thing its another. I miss my civic. hahahaha.

Most Likely its the Oil filter housing seal. Its a known culprit.

rxshun: my car does not move, there is nothing under the hood right now except the bare engine and turbos pretty much. i wish it did, i miss your civic too, haha.

i dont think it is the oil filter seal, i see oil drip marks down the side of the engine block around where the plugs are, but starting about an inch above, where there is something (knock sensor?) bolted into the side of the rotor housing. unless there is a seal from the oil filter line that runs to the side of the rotor housing, maybe that is an idea...

anyone else???

I second that. The oil is probably leaking from here and collecting near the knock sensor.

where is that seal exactly?

and if any of you happen to know the part number for that gasket by heart, please share the knowledge! :)

if this fixes my problem i will be forever greatful zoomzoom and ratedr1.
