another non-seq thread--need help
Ok so im doing a full non sequential
This is what ive done so far. took out the rats nets, and wires, but there still a lot of lines left. removed the turbos and manifold. buyed a non-sequential block off plate. Now i've looked at nopistons, rob's site, fd3s.net, and rotary resurrection. i have a good understanding on what to do. Only problem is im still lost because theres no pictures. i basically need a pics on what the top of the engine should look like without all the things needed, pics of what to do to the turbo basically a whole write up with pictures for every little step. A video would be awesome. if you have any pictures of when you did it, or know any other sites, please post them. ive checked many threads and any websites listed are either a bad url or not the same site anymore. thanks |

So im at a lost, i cant figure out where the line and the bolt hole goes, it lookes like the bolt hole has oil in it.

They go to nothing remove it. Also run your fue lines directly from the hardline to the rails.

The line goes to the purge solenoid which you most likely removed, it comes from the charcoal canister near the gas tank.

Got another problem, i cut out the flapper on the mani, and was gonna plug it with a bolt instead of a plug. Does it matter what kind of material the bolt is made of. Because for plugs you cant use steel because of different expansion rates. If you have the size of bolt you used that would be great. |
i plugged my holes in the manifold for the double throttle removal with jb weld ~8 years ago, its still fully sealed up. also I never boosted past 18psi so far on the stock twins, not sure if higher psi out of a large single turbo would eventually push it out.

ooo, ya lol jb-weld would definitely not work there. I thought you meant the double throttle plates on the tb. Anyways, not too sure about what bolt size to use, but if you worrying about expanding and contracting issues, why not undersize the bolt 1-2mm and use washers on either side? I'm getting into a non-seq as well, I plan on having these holes welded. I;m also planning
on having the exhaust manifolds and turbine housings ceramic coated. |
just ported my wastegate, and used spray paint to mark the edges, do i have to remove the spray paint before putting the turbos back together or will it just burn away?

Just get some thinners or turps and wipe it off. Probably wouldn't really matter but to be safe you might as well. It's a one minute job. I did it even though most people probably just leave it..

The paint will burn away.
fwiw, I had my 2 flapper holes welded today, ported the hell out of everything else too. |
