Analyze my time slip please?
Heres a Time slip I got. My car was wheel hopping like mad on the launch, and I always had to let up on the gas in 2nd because the tires would loose traction and I would start to go sideways. MY tires are some no name Z-rated ones.
Reaction: .141 60ft: 2.339 660ft: 8.953 ET: 13.438 MPH: 110.889 What do you guys think my car is capable off if I eliminated the wheel hop and got some half way decent tires? Mods are: Intake, DP, MP w/muffler, CB, G-force ECU. If I had raced on my 18s with some decent tires. What do you think I would have run? My 18s are about 22 lbs each. Thanks for any info :D |
Oh yeah, I was running 11-12 pounds boost on 1/4 tank of 93 octane.

not bad high to mid 12 second car there

Your 60' is where your problem lies. The 18"s aren't going to help you much, I'd suggest some nitto 555R drag radials on your stock 16"s. 245/45/16 should work, bring down the tire pressure a bit too. Launch from 5500-6000 RPM and slip out the clutch to the point that it just starts to go and let it fly. See how that works.

How much do you think the 18s would have slowed me down?
Trying to figure out if its worth the effort and money to buy drag radials for my stocks as well as having good tires on my 18s and swap out wheels when I goto the track. I dont' go that often, and when I do go its normally for bragging rights. :D |

A few things.....atleast 1/2 tank of gas. Forget the Nitto's, they suck. Been there done that. BFG just came out with a 18" drag radial. All the Supra guys are running them with great results. Get yourself a set. When at the track drop the air pressure to 15lbs of air, nice burnout and ride the clutch a bit launching at 5500-6000. You'll atleast take 1/2 second off your time. Every tenth off your 60' is worth 2 tenths off your 1/4 time.

Originally posted by kyle@insight Many tracks are like this, while on the slip it says .141, it's actually .641. They use .500 as the point for .000. If it's under .500, redlight, then it's -.xxx |

Final stage with clutch on slipping edge at 5-6K and pull it out slow while flooring it at second amber out. 660ft: 8.953 - Work it down to a 8.80 ET: 13.438 - Wow! your car is pulling good in 3rd! Wait until you get the 60' down! MPH: 110.889 You car makes great power for your mods What do you guys think my car is capable off if I eliminated the wheel hop and got some half way decent tires? Traction is your friend, and you will hit deep 12's with your setup if you learn to launch the car well. I agree that you should let the air out to 12-15lbs, and do a burnout Mods are: Intake, DP, MP w/muffler, CB, G-force ECU. what the hell is a G-force ECU? |
