Aluminum coating or hi heat paint?
 

Got the old downpipe off the car (it wasn't all that bad), thanks to the abundant information found on here.

The old unit was in great shape (48K miles) but weight a ton comparing to the HKS unit.

One odd thing was the finding of a 5th nut, identical to the other 4...I think it was somehow stuck up there at the factory.

Anyway...I am thinking about just spray the pipe with 1200* high heat paint and baked it in an industrialize oven (at work I have access to power coating ovens that could bake 20 foot telecomunication racks).

I could have it done professionally but.

1. Want to drive the car today. weather is beautiful!
2. No winter in Dallas, Tx...hardly.
3. 1000 miles average per year
4. Car see no rain

So have it coated or painted?

IMO, if you don't want to have it professionally done for something like ceramic coating (which could/will help with the heat) don't bother. It's not really a part that you are going to see all that well so just painting it is going to be pretty much a waste of time.
