Very nice, and not faded at all . But loose that "Cali duster "in your trunk. I dont care what your read , dust dirt, ect draged across dry paint scratches no matter how magic those threads are on the duster. But again very nice paint

Thanks guys, yeah the paint is in pretty good condition for being, what....11 years old? The hood is a replica from a group buy 2 years ago. The California duster is only used to clean up the fuz from buffing or when I take the cover off. It's not like I use it instead of washing the car. As for the liquid glass, no I have no relation w/ Liquid Glass, I was trying to get a cool shot of the reflection in the paint :)

very nice...how do u like ur cf hood as opposed to the stock hood? does it look better in ur opinion. I kinda want one too but not to sure because many have said cf has fitment issues and have big gaps. thanks for ur input in advance

Yeah, I love the CF hood. I mainly got it for functionality (the vents), but ended up liking the look too. I'll probably get it painted red when I repaint my entire car (next year), but i've liked it a lot the past 2 years. You should definitely make sure the fit is good....I got *very* lucky, as I've seen some terribly fitting ones. It's an eye catcher.

I have those hood pins! just got them last week...been contemplating putting them in but can't decide...going to see if I can get the circles on the hood machined a bit smaller diameter...can you do a little write up of how you installed them? thanks

Hood pin install, huh, well....I only know about the install on my CF replica hood:
-I picked my mounting points, removed the rubber stoppers, and installed the bolts. -Marked where the bolt meets the hood on the underside, and "approximated" where it would go through the top. - Removed the bolt and drilled down with a small bit. - Reinstall bolt and make sure the hole lines up ok, then take it out again :) -Get the biggest fucking bit you can find and drill the same hole (or at another angle if you think you were a little off the first time. -Now, that hole isn't gonna be big enough, so i just pressed the bit sideways to widen the hole in the directions i needed bigger. -On the UNDERSIDE, you've got a big hollow area you need to deal with, one way is to do the same thing with the drill and press it to make the hole bigger (not very pretty or safe). A BETTER way is to get a cut-off wheel and cut a nice hole that you can fit the 1" nut into for the backside of the lock. I didn't install the metal circle plates on the back. You'll have to play with the fitment a while to get things to line up, but it's not terribly tough. I also kept the stock latch in place. Hope that helps! ~Tom |
Looking good but I cant say I care too much for your choice of gauges. You have a black faced boost gauge, white faced a/f gauge and a digital temp gauge of some sort. I kinda like everything to be the same, looks nicer that way. It reminds me of the guys that have a couple blue, couple red and a few black couplers under their hood, I cant stand that, just stick with one color, it looks so much nicer. Other than that great looking car, I need a vented hood myself, looks nice!!

Here are a couple of unsolicted suggestions. Either lose the amp or fix the wiring. It looks really sloppy. Ditch the a/f guage. Unless you have a wideband it is useless. |
