Air Thermosensor Help!

Hi everyone.
I get a code and I did what is written here, it is code 11, air thermosensor.
I live in Hamilton, Canada. I found the part # here and went to the dealership with it.
I ordered, picked it up and paid.
Two problems:
1) on the little box that contains the sensor, there is the part # stamped right under the following writing: Temperature Sensor Water.
Any ideas?
2) I read here that somebody has removed the faulty sensor and installed the new one without removing the UIM. Now, I am not really in the mood to disconnect the 4000 things attached to the UIM (I'm afraid something is going to go wrong), so I'd like to do it without removal. I took a look at the situation and I cannot see anybody but a Martian to be able to remove this thing without taking the UIM out. It's not just the fact that it's hard to get to it with a wrench, I can find something that would work; it is rather the fact that there is another sensor in the way and I cannot see any tab on the plug that I could possibly depress to then pull the connector out.
Any images/ideas/help/moral support?

Please, I understand that the removal of the UIM would make this very easy. But I don't think I can handle this properly and I would also need a new gasket, which I don't have at this time.

Thank you in advance,

Giovanni

As for the box your thermosensor came in, mine did too, and it was ordered directly from Ray at Malloy Mazda. I have no explanation but the PN# should be N3A1-18-845.
As for changing out the sensor without removing the UIM, I don't think it can be done. You may be able to find a thread where someone has bent an old wrench and been able to do it, but that also sounds like more trouble than it's worth. Gasket's are only about $8 -$12 IIRC.

Air and water temperature sensors (gauges also) are generally interchangeable. Mazda probably used the same part for both sensors on the FD...
