air pump pulley stops for a sec....

today when I revved up my car up to like 4 to 5k rpm on the throttle cable the air pump pulley stops for a sec or so and then resume back..

what is this problem??

just get rid of it. you don't need it

No Problem - the Air Pump has an electric clutch - It only operates at low to mid speeds and it is also declutched when the ecu senses throttle opening (via the TPS), to improve throttle response.

Great response. Actually you DO need it to pass emissions, which we have to do every two years. You DO need it if you are still running the stock cat. If you don't have anything useful to say, why bother posting?

Maxpesce is right, Z28 SS. The air pump only operates up to 3200 rpm.
