Air filter problem

Hi, I noticed that this air filter on my fd is not sucking anything and not only that that I got to rev up my fd to about 6-8 k to get it to move. Could this be causing the problem? Other than that the car feels normal...

By the way this is not my engine bay but its similar.

What do you mean you have to rev it up that high? That doesn't make much sense at all. If you can't get your car to move until you rev it that high, it sounds like you have a problem in the transmission area, not the engine.

And unless your intake isn't hooked up at all, there has to be air flow through the air filter. If your car is running, it is getting air from somewhere. How are you determining air flow?

+1 to transmission problem

if your turbo's boosting, your air filter is working.

if you need to rev to 6-8k to get the car moving.. your problem is NOT the air filter.
