air bag and horn problem

Did some digging, but same problems... Air Bag blinks 5 times (front sensor) and the horn doesn't work.

I've checked the horn and it is functional if I hook it up to a seperate power supply. I don't have an multimeter to see if current is going to the horn ... I will try that some other time since it is easilty accessable.

The air bag light flashes... I unplugged the battery, pressed the brake to discharge any possible power, and removed the air bag. The connections seem to be fine.

Fuses are okay and I don't see any bad wires or anything.

Any thoughts??

Maybe something on the clock spring? Should this thread be moved?

Anyone's horn fail and they found the problem? I'll be checking contacts and continuality, but I won't be able to work on the car for a week or two.

My horn and airbags don't work also. What fixed your airbags?

My horn is killing me, it seems like there is part of the harness missing or something because when I ground the connector behind the glove box it will honk. However there is nothing connected to it...and I cant find anything hanging around.

YMMV, but this is how I worked through my horn problems.

First thing I did was rule out bad horns. You can jump them at the horns, or using the horn relay. If they go off, then you know you're good up to that point.

The next thing I did was pull the steering wheel, and jump the horn wires that go into the clock spring. If your horns go off, congratulations you've found the problem (this was the case for me). You'll want to disassemble your steering wheel, and remove both of the horn switches. Mine were super corroded. Thorough cleaning and proper application of dielectric grease cleared everything up right away.

If your horns didn't fire when you jumped the connectors that plug into the steering wheel, you'll want to investigate your clock spring and CPU 2 connections next. Keep carefully jumping the horn connectors until you narrow down where the signal is getting dropped.

It turns out the horn connection got trapped in the hvac box when someone replaced the evaporator. Once I found it and plugged it in the horns worked.

the issue I was having with the air bag to start was that someone had a 93 diagnostic module in a 94.
