aftermarket stock size IC DUCT?
Anyone sell one? I saw the ad from the guy on the forum that makes the c/f hoods and ic duct, but the duct is bigger than stock. I have a Blitz SMIC and my IC duct has the hole for where the intake used to be and well...duct tape is not appealing.
so ...does anyone sell one? |
you talking about something like this?
http://www.pfsupercars.com/mods/imag...ercooler01.jpg you can get that duct for 150. |

Does PFS still sell used stuff and pretend its new? I never order from them before and try to avoid. If they are the only vender, well I'll buy it then. Thanks

Go post in the parts section, there has to be someone that upgraded that has the old one.

You can also use the duct for the Pettit Coolcharge II SMIC.

They do. I bought one from Pettit for $100. However, it is not the stock size. The side facing the IC is quite a bit larger than the stock duct. It will take some cutting and sanding to make it mate up properly.

Mahjik, you're on the ball there ... I had to call them direct to get it.
Zerobanger, check out this link: http://www.rx7turboturbo.com/robrobinette/ic_duct.htm Mine looks exactly like the duct that Rob has in his writeup. Quality is good. Definitely better than the stock one. But, you will lose the routing of air around the condenser. (Not a big deal, IMO.) If you go this route, make sure you do multiple fitments of the duct to the IC as you are cutting and sanding it down. Rob's writeup makes it sound really easy  ... IC, pipes, and the duct took me an entire afternoon. |
Consider adding a rubber seal around the edge, to keep all the air going through the IC core. If it is easier for the air to go out the sides, some of it will.
http://www.mcmaster.com/ and probably many other places (Home Depot, auto parts store) probably have something you could use. -Max |
