Aftermarket gauge readings
Anyone know what these values should be? My car is pretty much stock except for a FMIC and Koyo Rad. I have several Defi gauges, just not sure what each should be reading.
For my Fuel Pressure, I get a reading of 39psi when I jump the fuel pump with GND, but at idle its at 34psi. For my oil pressure: I teed off the Defi sensor with my stock sending unit. Stock reading is pegged and the Defi oil gauge is buzzing. For A/F: at cold startup, my reading is at 13.5, but when the engine warms up 90c, its starts to lean out, bouncing from 14-17, sometimes sitting around 17 And for boost, well not sure how to convert kPa to psi Here are some post: At cold startup http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jzC0dN66iCI enging warming up about 5mins in http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YcEP1lESIiM |

Sounds about right For my oil pressure: I teed off the Defi sensor with my stock sending unit. Stock reading is pegged and the Defi oil gauge is buzzing. That is no good you need to get the pressure sensor that is susposed to work with the defi gauge For A/F: at cold startup, my reading is at 13.5, but when the engine warms up 90c, its starts to lean out, bouncing from 14-17, sometimes sitting around 17 And for boost, well not sure how to convert kPa to psi Use the google. your boost gauge is not showing the correct values, it should not be positive pressure at idle.
Id guess that your oil pressure gauge is buzzing because your oil pressure is below its warning threshold, try revving it and see if the pressure goes up and the buzzing stops. |

i think 17 a/f is super lean for idle(not even sure the car can idle at all that lean), mine is 13s to high 14s warmed up. during warm up its a bit richer like high 11s-12s. where exactly is the sensor located ? maybe gone bad?
boost should not even be at 0 when the car is started and idling.. the car should be in vacuum unless under boost. you could possible have a leak, in 1 or more places, what is your boost pattern? i have no clue about the oil since i dont know and have no oil gauge except stock |

For boost that does value mean the same if its in Kpa rather than psi. I should of bought the imperical readings rather than metric. Need to sell this one and get the correct one.
As for the oil pressure, when I do rev, the defi gauge does stops buzzing, but stock gauge is pegged over the 120 The value will not really matter, just looking at where the zero is, is usually the division between boost and vacumn. i think your stock oil pressure gauge is definitely malfunctioning, what does the defi go to when it is revved to 3-4000? |

I re-zipped all the hoses back and replaced a couple of silicone hoses that cracked..I'm hoping I put everything back together. The only hard pipe I did not cap nor put a hose on is located in front of the UIM near the coolant hoses/fill neck/left side below the middle vacuum chamber. For your oil pressure and boost gauge the readings are in "bar". Multiply by 14.7 for the imperical number.
Something is definitely wrong with the vacuum line of your boost gauge. As most have already stated, you should be down in the kPa area under idle and light load. Oil pressure at idle warm up for me on the stock gauge is around 60 psi which should be just over 4 bar. Warm it should be closer to 40 psi which is around 3 bar. Mind you this is just per my stock gauge on my personal car. Either way something is definitely wrong with the pressure source for both your stock and Defi sensors. They are reading it totally opposite directions. |

He mentioned that his boost gauge is in kpa and 100kpa = 1 bar = 14.7 psi. |

Just to clarify:
He mentioned that his boost gauge is in kpa and 100kpa = 1 bar = 14.7 psi. I am wondering with the oil pressure reading, before I went ahead and pulled the injectors out, I had the Defi sending unit attached to the motor along, the stock sending unit I had taken off. When that was the only one there, the reading was at 2.0..no buzzing no warnings! Last week I decided to tee off the Defi and stock unit since the motor was apart and that is when the reading was down a notch. I am not sure if this is due to the fact I had fixed the irregular idling, or something else. Here is the video from a couple of weeks ago: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8NVdA...layer_embedded |
Also I forgot to mention, the gauges are new, but had been sitting installed in my car for about 5yrs now

There is something wrong with the boost gauge, it should in no way be in boost at idle, there just isnt the load/exhaust flow necessary to spool the turbos
