aftermarket BOV instead of bypass
Hi everyone
I have stock sequental turbos and stock pressure Is it bad idea if I will take off my bypass balve and put there some aftermarket bov (of course I will plug hose in side of air intake)? Or it can be replaced only if I will buy elbow and put BOV there be cause it's close to throttle body? Thanks in advance |
You can replace the stock BOV with an aftermarket BOV whenever you want it's not going to make any difference except for the sound when the pressure is released. Just make sure to plug the big hole on the stock one when you remove it.
The "best" place to put it is as close as possible to the throttle body, but technically you can put it pretty much anywhere. If all you want is the car to make the "whoosh" sound, you can do it with the stock BOV you don't need an aftermarket one. Just remove the big hose that goes to the intake box and let the BOV vent into the air. |
This has been covered before, but there is no problems with adding an aftermarket BOV. The position of the BOV really doesn't matter, you don't have to put it on the throttle body elbow.
Also, you won't gain anything by using an aftermarket one, the stock BOV works great. You can vent the stock one to the air and cap the airbox if you want fun "wooshing" noises. Dale |
Wow, we're having the same ideas :)

Thank you guys! Yep the only reason why I need bov is "whoosh" sound. I'll try with bypass as you advised.
