after market oil pan?
Hey fellas....
What good is an aftermarket oil pan? Aside from the obvious better oiling and upgraded strength over the stock unit. Have any of you had experience with these pans? and if so which ones? where did you get them from? What differences did you find? Thanks guys, Matt |

Your stock oil pan is just fine, assuming the pan bolts are properly torqued and the bolts for the motor mounts have been sealed properly. The pan isn't weak, overtightening the bolts will cause leaking on almost any pan, short of a fabricated aluminum pan with billet rails. Personally, I wouldn't worry about it.
Moroso makes a stamped 12A pan, and I believe that I've seen a 13B pan listed by them or someone else in the past, but apart from additional capacity, a replacement oil pan isn't going to do you much good. You'll also have to adjust the pickup for the oil pump so that it's properly located in relation to the pan floor. And just FYI... "Signatures should be less than 460x200 in size, or no more than 10 lines of text." :) |
oops, Thanks jimbo ;)
