advice needed on suppliers

fellow rotaryphiles,

I am seriously interested in buying a type-R or tpye-RZ and do not really know where to start. I haver looked at several sites like bonsiacars and linney and things like that, but the prices seem to be way higher than what I would expect. maybe I am expecting too much...
about 8K for a 96 model, with limited mods ( wanna keep things simple)

any leads?

also... I hear alot about the rotary engine being expensive to repair and it needs doing every 10K miles...what are the main things to look for when buying

thanks in advance

Japan, 96 and up were never imported to the US.

Here is a link that will help you with the reliability questions. Enjoy.

I am in the Uk if that makes any difference.

I hear alot on this site allready about the money people have spent on ther FD's and am not sure if I can keep up with the level of mods people put on them. I just want a pretty much standard RZ to use daily and the odd race day. unless I get too hooked.

in which case I need a better payed job...

You have to pay to play bubbu. If its too much for you then you need to start looking for a nice reliable Honda.

well it shoujldnt be too much of a problem.. I just couldnt afford to spend 15k on doing the RZ justice.

and if the car is so good as standard then there shouldn t really be too much to do to it an way of modifications.

to be honest not really into the modification scene, just like the car and it is more than addequate as god intended.

though will have to live witgh the usual mods that get applied, like body kit exhaust and uprated air filter and other such things.

anyway, thanks for the links, thay have settled my doubts a bit even if they they sadi that some mods were neede to make it more 'bullet-proof'

has anyone else got any information as to best sites to import into the uk or uk stockers?...

Go to the regional forums here and ask in the european section. There are a few UKers around, and you will find them quicker over there. The majority of people reading this section are Americans who have no experience importing Japanese cars into the UK, strangely enough.

Moderator, please move this to the appropriate Regional forum.
