addition to the hyperite gauge mod

I just redid my stock gauges to the hyperite style gauges. no need to post pics of that. but i got to thinking that the look would not be complete with the ac panel lights being white as well. so here is a pic enjoy.:)

i'll do a quick little write-up off the top of my head. first off, perform at your own risk as there is a chance for you to screw up your panel

1. unscrew 2 screws holding in the circuit board in the back of the a.c panel on the inside of the black plastic cover.

2. remove the 5 screws holding the black plastic cover to the ac panel face.

3. unscrew the 15 screws holding the switches and remove the switches.

4. use a small screwdriver and pry off the clear plastic panel for the selector switch. do not pull on the tabs for the screws, it will break, ask me how i know. use the same technique for the fan speed selector clear panel.

5. carefully peel off the thick black film from these clear panels. they are sturdy so if you are careful they will not rip. its a lot easier than it sounds.

6. use acetone to remove the orange film from the black film. this is what i would consider to be the hardest part, so take your time. use a q tip to apply the acetone and let the acetone do the work. DO NOT SCRUB OFF THE FILM. you will remove the black paint as well. lightly dab it with q tip and it will come off just fine. and thats it.

7. put everything back together and swap out your bulbs for leds and enjoy! :)

Thanks! I posted a thread about this and no one ever answered me. Now i have the answer. Thanks a lot!

Do you have list of what kind of bulbs I need because I will be doing this to brighten things up, but the amber has grown on me and I've decided to keep it.

i am certain it is size 74 from superbrightleds.com if you click this link and scroll all the way down, there is a list of bulbs that size 74 replaces. it basically replaces all minibulbs.

How many did you need?

4. 2 behind the a/c temp control and 2 behind the selector dial. there isnt one behind the fan speed selector switch. it gets light from the the other two.
