ACT Monoloc Wedge collar

So what the heck since transmission is out I really hate that fork sinking. Bite that bullet and give this one a try a lot cheaper than buying that OEM flimsy wedge collar. Although I would say it is well made compared to the OEM wedge collar see it for yourself side by side. Very robust and a little safety insurance in case I do spirited driving on some mountain road and only to realize my clutch will bottom out. Looks like this item is fairly new and not much popping out if you search it.
I am still going to use stock clutch since I don't have that much budget right now. I wonder how this fare up being re-used? But those ACT collars do not even bend it just moves certain amount and I am sure it can snap if blunt force is applied.

I think the main impetus behind ACT making this part is for the Evo, they use the same pull style clutch that the FD does with the same retention collar.

Evo's are HELL on clutches, with a lot of horsepower and all wheel drive.

In my experience, the stock retention collar holds just fine and the only problems I've seen with it is from it being mangled by a poor install or removal.

While it is a cool part, I don't know how necessary it is on an FD. The $60 price is reasonable, but any new pressure plate will come with a stock style one for free that works just fine.

Also, wondering about that "fork sinking", you said stock clutch.....? Anyway, agree w/Dale.

Actually, every new FD ACT pressure plate comes with the Monoloc for free, it is the standard product.

Looks like a great part to me. Anyone that has had the damn ring pop off once or twice can feel the pain of another 1/2hr for R&R setup.
