Is ACT HD S/S still the clutch of choice?

I did a search and found this to be the most popular, but most of the threads were over a year old.

Is there a FAQ or something that might help me match a clutch to my needs?

My car has intake/IC/DP running stock boost (keeping it in check with profec b). Its a weekend car that does occasional autox, and my priority is long clutch life (rather than tearing up the streets!). Is the ACT S/S a good match for me?

Incidentally, I'm looking at clutches because my stock clutch is slipping, even though the car only has 25k miles. Might this indicate that something else is wrong.

Thanks!

IMO, yes the S/S would be a good fit.

The S/S would be a great fit for your use. I suspect there is a problem with your current setup though. Perhaps you have oil leaking down on the clutch?

Thanks Mahjik :)

I've had this happen in other cars, so I wouldn't be surprised if this were the case.

Yes, get the ACT HDSS. Best clutch I've had. Had the same setup in all 3 of my cars now. Never slipped, always streetable, etc. Clutchmasters sucks, slipped even when it was new. ACT 6-puck was way too much to be streetable.

I'm running an HD S/S now and love it, but it makes the pedal very heavy - significantly heavier than the regular S/S. Awesome for track use, but my calf muscle gets very sore in stop-and-go traffic...
