Ace hardware cashier
 

I pulled my fuel rail and stripped some of the phillips head bolts so I go to Ace to get new hex bolts. At checkout the guy sees me holding the fuel rail goes "so, fixing your car?"
me: "yep"
cashier: "what kind"
me: "94 rx7"
c: "turboed?"
m: "they are all turboed"
c: "oh did you drive it here?"
m: (pauses a moment--wtf?) "nope, can't drive it w/o my fuel rail on" :rlaugh:

Oh damn, I thought I posted this in the lounge... oh well--guess I'll have to post some before and after shots of my fuel rails and injectors once I get them cleaned. Ohhh and a nice and new FPD :)!

You would be surprised how many people (usually young guys) try to do major repairs right in the parking lot. Our Advance Auto even lends tools. The clowns go right into the store get tools, take off the part, bring in the bad part swap for new part and wala, parking lot fix. It's sad to see and a bitch to walk across the parking lot because they usually leave fluids all over.

^ Sad perhaps but maybe they have no choice. I know people that live in apartment complexes that are absolutely forbidden from working on their car in its parking stall.
Ya gotta do what ya gotta do, sometimes. Also, it makes more sense to fix some things right there and then (within reason of course) to make sure the part you bought is correct, especially if you had to drive a long ways to get the part.
