AC warm at idle, Cold once driving?
 

As the title says, My AC is "Luke Cold/warm" while at idle, traffic lights, stop signs etc.
Once I start Cruising even at 2-3000RPM it blows ice cold?
Is my belt slipping or in need of replacement? Is the Compressor going?
Anyone ever have a similar problem?

Your compressor (or is it condensor? it's the radiator type thing) is getting heat soaked by the radiator. By moving, you get air moving and cools things down.

makes sense, we are experiencing some crazy heat right now 42+ celsius
Just wanted to check, maybe someboday thought something was failing?

The condenser is a heat exchanger just like a radiator. It will be more efficient as the car gets moving. The inefficiency is exacerbated if you have an FMIC.

My '97 Q45 (a high end luxury car in its day) has two large electric fans for the A/C condensor that are separate from the clutch fan which cools the radiator. The A/C is more efficient at a dead stop than most cars, but it still doesn't work as well as when the car is at high speeds.

I have read that some people put washers to put some space between the condensor
and radiator to help this issue to some degree. Thanks for the responses though, this makes much more sense now!

Performance at idle will be diminished because the compressor isn't turning as fast and therefore isn't putting out as many BTUs as well as the fact that the condenser isn't seeing as much airflow.

Check to make sure both your radiator fans are running properly, and that your condenser isn't full of bugs and dirt. Don't be afraid to spray it down with simple green then gently hose it out. Don't use too much water pressure or you'll flatten the fins leaving you worse off than when you started.

If the fans are running like they should then shimming the condenser away from the radiator won't make a bit of difference.
