AC problem
 

I recently did a single turbo conversion on my car. A microtech ems is running things. After getting back the car I notice the AC is not functioning as it should. It blows cold air for a while then stops and the interior becomes warm. The cold air may then randomly come back on.
Apparently the compressor is not cycling as it should. I had the thermostat changed, the system was tested for leaks and the dryer was changed. I also had a relay wired so that the fans would remain on once the AC is on. No success.
I notice that the problem occurs more often when that car is stationary like in traffic.
What could cause this?
My mech suggested that there may be another thermostat somewhere else?

Are your cooling fans running with the a/c on?

Yes the fans are running while the AC is on. I forgot also to say that the engine is overheating probably because of the fmic install and stock radiator (got it up to 100 degrees C once). I will be switching to a koyo try to somhow get more air through it.

Do you know what your a/c pressures are? Both when running and cooling, and at the moment when the compressor shut off.

I am not sure, I would have to ask the mech. He says that the compressor is fine but there is something sutting it down though. Do you know if the FD has another thermostat somewhere?

Sounds like the high pressure switch is shutting the compressor down. This is typically caused because there is either insufficient airflow through the condenser or the system is overcharged.

Well recently I sorted out my overheating problem. It is amazing what an undertray can do for your water temps. Now I am not seeing more than 92 degrees celcius even after a spirited driving.
But the AC problem is still there. I have replaced everything in the AC system except the compressor. I am trying to source a replacement and hopefully that should solve the problem.
