About to lift the engine & tranny, what exactly do I do with the PPF?

There are four nuts where the transmission attaches to the front of the Powerplant Frame (PPF), and more connections to the PPF in the back between the drive wheels.

Do I only have remove the front 4 tranny nuts to be able to slide out the engine/tranny?

And if so, how do I get the 2 transmision studs to lift clear of the PPF holes before the drive shaft is disengaged?

If anyone can shed light on this, I'd appreciate it. Thanks!

I just did it today, you unbolt the little crossmember and then unbolt the ext and then undo the 4 bolt to the tranny and it will sag down enough that it will clear.

That's good to hear, but what is the "ext" you refer to?

I'm pretty sure it's impossible to pull the engine and trans out with just taking the front 4 nuts of the ppf off.
why not just take the the 5 off in the rear too???

I would think the same thing since the PPF is rigid. When the back 5 are taken off, what happens to the rear drive mechanisms that the PPF supports? I just want to make sure they don't come crashing down.

Thanks - Tom
