99 Spec Turbos?

Anyone know what the difference between stock 93 turbos and the 99spec turbos is? Anyone know the stats on the 99 compared to the 93 turbos?

Also does anyone have any experience with the 93+ Upgraded twins from RX7store.net? Whats different from stock? http://www.rx7store.net/subcat.asp?0=220

Thanks

there is NO differance unless you get the 99 RS/RZ turbos in which case the main difference is the compressor wheels are 1mm smaller and and hear the turbine wheel design is a little different.

Look in the other thread and you'll see a pic of the RS/Rz turbos with a model # on the compressor housing. Thats how you know your getting the right thing https://www.rx7club.com/showthread.p...5&pagenumber=2

I just pulled out my turbos this morning. We manufacture turbochargers, therefore was looking for the specs of the 99's to duplicate the internals.

You can probably buy the Hitachi cartridges somewhere? The '99 Type RS/RZ wheels are 50 mm vs US spec 51 mm with a different design. The housings are abraded, which net a zero tolerance between wheel and housing. The turbos are supposedly more efficient, and spool quicker than US spec twins.

What about the upgraded twins from RX7Store.net? Does anyone know the stats on those?

In that case you prob want a little more info. The only real difference between the "regular 99's" and the 93-95 is that the bearing housing has a little different design that has the backing plate molded into it.

I imagine you can still use the stock ecu with the upgraded and the 99 specs?

Yes, so long as you maintain stock boost levels...
