99 spec taillight conversion instructions. Where are they??

Hey Everyone,

I have a set of 94 taillights that I want to convert into 99 specs. I know at one point their were instructions on how to do that provided by rotaryaddicts.com but it looks like their site is done. I have been checking for days now to see if the website will be up again and no luck.

Does anyone know where else I can get the instructions from. If you have it, can you email it to armen.karapetyan7@gmail.com?

Thank you

Thank you. I'll close this thread and join in that one.

I wonder if it would be possible to convince everyone to start calling them 96 spec tail lights...since that was when they first appeared on our cars... Same with the updated y-pipe...

I'm still looking for the conversion instructions for the 96+ spec tail lights :D

If anyone has them please post them up.

Not quite a guide...but these are Theories words:

Modified Tail Lights ('99 Spec) I decided to take apart my tail lights and modify them to look like the '99 Spec tails. The whole process took about an hour from start to finish. I used a heatgun to melt the glue and open the housings. After that I used a razor knife in a compass to cut perfect 80mm & 75mm circles out of contact paper. Using the contact paper circles to mask off the lights, I applied a few coats of black matte spray paint. After drying, I put them back together and install them. Here are photos from the process and the results. Here is what the tail lights looked before: Taking the tails apart with the heatgun: Using the razor knife & compass to cut the contact paper: Applying the circles, painting, then removing the contact paper: Using the heat gun to put the tails back together:

Now the big question. How far do you space out the circles. That is what I have been trying to find out. I found this but I want exact measurements instead of approximate. Light Upgrades.

Sweet! Can you give us the exact measurements for circle distances from each other, and the side of the lights?

The search function on this, and all forums I've been on suck.
If you want to search content of this forum, go to Google and enter
site:rx7club.com then enter your search criteria. Then Google will just search this site.
In this case it would be, site:rx7club.com 99 spec tail light instructions.

That drawing is way off....

Also no specs for circle size but middle circle is 81mm. The other brake circle is 83mm. Turn signal is actually an oval but 75mm is closest.
