99 JDM turbos question

I have a 93 rx-7 and I might buy a set of 99 JDm turbos, and I have some questions about this change. Will I need to change anything to get them to fit or will they bolt right on? Also my car is street-ported by KDR and I will have a downpipe and bigger exhaust soon. However, I do worry about getting too much power and my automatic tranny will not hold the power anymore. I have heard the auto tranny will only hold about 350hp; is this true, and is that at the wheels or fly? thanks rx-7 heads...
One last note I moved to columbia MO.. Are there anyone with rx-7's who would like to meet up?

I believe the auto tranny will not hold more then 300 HP to the wheels, and even tho if your motor is making in excess of 400hp 300 will still only get to the wheels. As far as the 99 JDM turbos go, they bolt right in, but I would suggest still going single turbo.

Straight bolt on .. no worries.

I'll take the last part.. ;)

I don't know of anyone in the Columbia area with an FD. But there are several in St. Louis and Kansas City, and forum member lane_change is located in Kirksville.

JDM 99 turbos..

My understanding is it's a true bolt in...they put out mor power... but possibly at expence of lower end..(lower revs) however... this might be easier on the trans...I am in proccess of this myself...with a automatic no less!!!With your street port,... possibly you might consider a convertor upgrade to get a higher stall speed... Keep in touch.. Carter

anyway, wouldn't any horses in excess of 300 tear up the tranny?

They do bolt right up.
I have had them installed for over 6 months and honestly you really don't notice much of a difference over OEM. They do spool up a bit quicker but thats all that was noticeable.
