'93 Failed to Start

I'm hoping someone may be able to offer some advice. I have a '93 touring that failed to start yesterday afternoon after a few trips around town. Car was running fine. Parked the car, went into a store, came out about 15-20 minutes later and tried to start the car.

When I put the key in and tried to start it, I immediately heard a kunk or bang sound and that's it. I tried again, and nothing. Dead. Complete silence. I don't think it was the battery since the engine wasn't even trying to turn over, the clock was okay and when I opened the car door with the key in the ignition the buzzer went off but none of the warning lights on the dash light up, nor does the radio work.

I had the car towed to a dealer but since it's a long weekend in Quebec, nobody will look at the car until atleast Tuesday. Could it be just a fuse or is it something more dramatic? Any advice would be much appreciated before I have to face the dealer on Tuesday. Thanks in advance.

look at the 120amp main fuse in the first set of fuses off the battery. When that blew on mine the dash lights didnt work but my windows would still roll up and down but the only thing different is that my engine still cranked but not fuel or spark.
