8psi stock boost

My 93 Rx-7 boost has read a max of 8psi ever since we have bought the car brand new back in 93. I know everybody has been saying the stock boost is 10psi, so what the heck is wrong with mine. Maybe my booost gauage is off but it always been 8psi. I have a boost controller to increase the boost to 10 or 12 but i hardly use it. But its strange though that i only run 8psi though. Maybe you guys can fiqure it out. The boost pattern is like 8-6-8 instead of the 10-8-10 that most of yall have.

You mentioned that you have a boost controller -- this is why you have ~8psi boost. The stock wastegate opens up at 7psi w/o any restriction, this is why you were seeing ~8psi of boost. Turn on and adjust your boost controller if you want 10psi of boost.

Turn your boost controller off and see what you get -- you should get a solid 7 psi. If you do, everything is most likely working fine! As WaLien stated, if you have an aftermarket boost controller, you will have to adjust it to achieve the desired boost level above 7 psi.
