850ccs primaries (just need a pic)
I just need a picture of them installed...ive been seaching with no luck....
I just had an 1/8inch shaved off the top of the rail..but they are sitting high... I just need a stupid pic :) Thanks guys |
They probably arent setting "high" really. You probably just shaved a little too much off. Its ok, I did the same thing....just make sure the holder that goes in on top of them is good and tight and snug and that they are bottomed out in the botton and cant move up and down.

i had a machine shop do it...and it looks just like an 1/8 of an inch...when i stick the holder on the screws wont reach....i think i need to force them into the rail more i just want a pic to compare

I just spent a month working on this, so before you do anything else, read this in full.
I started by milling the rail down 5 mm and counterboring the hole about 1 mm to seat the lip of the injector. The reason they are "high" is because the plastic pintle filters that sit around the body of the injectors are too wide to fit into the bottom part of the bore of the fuel injector holder. Don't force them, they physically will not fit. I took the pintle caps off as well as the pintle filters (I don't recommend this - you'll foul your injectors easily) and had my (very patient) buddy at the machine shop machine me two washers with a precision of about +-0.0001 in ID/OD to slide around the injector shaft and fit on the tiny little lip that's there so that I would have something to seat the o-ring on. Well, that all worked out perfectly and in coordination with the counterbore up top the thing sits like a charm. The problem is now that the upper o-ring slips down too far into the bore that it actually slips into the rail body and doesn't seal - not to mention that the flow might be pretty restricted by having to slide around such a small groove. I've got myself another primary rail on the way that I'm going to play with to see if I can make it work - after $100 in machine work I'm losing patience and starting to think that I'll either build a custom rail or go with the kgparts variety. I can take some photos tonight and post them if anyone would like to see what I'm talking about. |
thats sucks man :(
this isnt suppose to be hard...everywheres I read it was either do the double oring technique or shave an 1/8inch of the top |
or just send the rail to garfinkle for 5 dollars he will mill it
took me about 2 minutes to install the injectors into my car it was my 1600s rail that I payed big money for that leaked |
Great, I'll pay garfinkle $5 to tell me how much to mill it! :)

picture anyone...

Here's a picture of the broken one - the upper o ring protrudes into the bore. You can also see the custom o-ring standoff that I had made.
