8-5-8 boost, need a good shop in washington

i just had a new engine installed by the dealership in yakima. the mechanic is good with rotarys and most of all loves to work on them so i had him do the install. everything works great exept the turbos. the turbos boosted good before the install and now the boost patern is 8-5-8. he has had the car for a week now and he said he is leaning toward the turbos. pretty normal with dealership mechanics i hear. i know they are good and they have low miles. is there any shop in washington state or oregon or any surrounding state, or even anybody that really knows these cars and the sequencial system that anyone would recomend. please help

That sounds like a pretty consistent boost pattern. First off, check all of the pressurized hoses (any larger tube after the turbos).

Secondly, I really think this is an issue with missing restrictor pills. It's very possible that the dealership, much like most Mazdaduh dealerships, did not realize that there were restrictor pills in the two lines going to your turbo pre-control/wastegates.

Check the two lines going from the two actuators (precontrol/wastegate) to see there there are hard pills inside the hoses. It will feel like you are squeezing some hard nuts in between your fingers. If those are missing, it would explain your boost pattern, as the stock spring settings on the wastegates are @ 7psi, which would result in a 7-5-7 boost pattern.

By the way, if you plan on solving this issue on your own, you can make some relatively inexpensive boost controllers with this link: http://www.robrobinette.com/boost_controller.htm
