60mm Center Speaker Guage Pod
I just got a great deal on some Defi BF gauges and have been looking high and low for a 3 or 4 pod 60mm center speaker guage holder! Can anyone point me in the right direction? I've already searched and only ran into dead ends or dead links. Thanks!

This is a tough one. I would scour the FS section for flyrx7 pods :(

Yeah, I've been looking for the flyrx7 one and tried to email him. He hasn't been on this forum for about a month.

Im pretty sure he is done making them.

I made my own. Looks better than most in my opinion. I used some PVC pipe from home depot with a bit of mighty putty (that stuff they sell on TV). i pulled the grill off the center speaker, gorilla glued the pipes on, and filled in the gap with the putty. I did this years ago for my boost gauge on the column. Using some black interior paint, it matches the dash perfectly. Total price, $25 (not counting the elbow grease).

Not a bad solution if nothing else is availible.

Now that looks awesome! I'm a hands on guy and would actually prfer to make it myself. Thanks for the ideas!

danewbern, what curve angle and length did you use? I like that radius.
|
Flyrx7 posts a forsale section on Phils site
|
Wow danewbern's came out really well, but I see them pop up semi-often in the for sale section.

i use a p-trap union. i went to home depot with the gauge and did trial and error until i found a fit. here is a pick of what i found and where i had to cut it. the trick was finding on that had a small straight section before the curve started. i also cust the mounting bolts off the gauges. the curve is snug enought that the gauge's dont need anyhting else to hold them in, although i bet you could use hot melt glue for it. the paint also was important because it matches so well. i order it from blackdragonauto.com. its the perfect color for the interior, but i have also used it on the cowl cover by the wipers and on the headlight bezels.
i did two, but this could probably fit three i think. http://i959.photobucket.com/albums/a...bern/ptrap.png |
wow danewbern, that is ingenious and turned out great! awesome work

I really appreciate everybody's help! I was able to contact FlyRX7 and he had a pod instock. Before he emailed me, I was looking for the PVC with that curve and I actually saw the trap and was thinking about doing that exact thing! Thanks a million guys!

^^^ This is true. He said he had the triple 60mm instock and the quad 60mm being made, not sure about 52mm. I just received my triple 60mm pod and the quality is second to none! I don't think I could have come close to it trying to make it myself with pvc pipe!

thas awesome danewbern! sorry but i'll be copying you in the future. :)
