mono4lamar 05-29-06 12:24 PM

Rocking Rotary 05-29-06 01:05 PM

Mines mid to low 20's I run 550 and 1200 and a GT35R. Thats just highway driving with no boost involved.

I'm with you, I get 15-17mpg staying out of boost, and I have basic bolt ons. How are people with 400+hp getting better MPG than us? lol

Railgun 05-29-06 05:58 PM

Most tunes are still way too rich for light cruising. You can easily lean out for some better mileage. It won't hurt anything.

to sum it all up..... very well tuned!

1wide7 05-29-06 06:03 PM

i dont know how many gallons our tanks hold but 130 miles out of a 1/2 tank was like 14 mpg, i didnt boost past 5 psi for the 130 mile trip and i dyno at 420whp on pump gas

TRISPEEDFD3S 05-29-06 06:58 PM

20 gallon tank...

Nat6c 05-29-06 07:07 PM

WHEN my stocker ran. on a DP and CatBack no seq. 18 ish spritied driving. 21-23 hwy/city mixed like a "normal" human being. If i kept constant WOT i'd get 12-14...
but i kept good plugs in. changed em every 2-3 oil changes.

Los

you can lean out the vaccume section to bump up your MPG a lil bit

cohbra 05-29-06 09:25 PM

When I filled up yestarday, 20.75 mpg - right at 300 rwhp - and I boost daily.

Swolbynos 05-29-06 09:25 PM

3.5 mpg 850 1600

Have you run it on the dyno or track yet? I am just interested on what the other R85's are making. 1Wide, are you going back for C16 tuning? I hardly drive mine, lol, C16 aint cheap.

Speedworks 06-11-06 05:04 AM

Rotarie are thirsty but as s tated , much more into boost. Reason to me is, singles get better mileage because the boost comes up at higher rpm and provide you a wider low rpm range to cruise and stay out of boost.

That's why i'm starting with going non seq and have it properly tuned.

t-von 06-12-06 03:00 AM

For the most part your porting and tune is what's going to effect your mileage. Not a particular hp number. Those of you with extra overlap on your primaries and to rich an A/F mixure under vacuum are never gonna have good cruising mpg. Why? Too much of your fuel is being drawn out the exhaust and waisted. You just have to know what your doing and have specific goals in mined when your building these cars.

So so right. Hell I can't stay off boost with my seq because of the quick spool. As soon as I hit boost (even slightly) my mpg goes to shit. That's why when I rebuild my engine, I'm going Gt-35r with higher compression 9.7 rotors. This should still give me decent bottom end while not hitting boost too soon, therefore giving me better around town fuel economy.

fd3s_rx7 06-12-06 10:29 AM

402HP on 850/1300: T04S,...

I get 15-17 Freeway, and low 11 MPG city driving...

Nuvolari 06-12-06 10:41 AM

440 whp, 15 highway and 10 city on a good day

PS: dont buy a FD if you are concerned about gas mileage

XSTransAm 06-12-06 11:33 AM

about 20mpg highway when i can keep my foot out of it.

550/1680

olyrx7 06-12-06 11:41 AM

I get around 260-290km out of one full tank. I have 850cc primaries/1600cc sec, but who cares about mileage it's all about the boost!

Robertio 06-12-06 02:08 PM

I was constantly getting 350-400miles from a tank of completely off-boost (ideally no more than -0.2bar) with over 400@wheels (550/1680). Same mpg I got with stock twins on stock injectors for the same driving - it's simply down to the fuel map on cruise and how smoothly you can use the throttle.

fd3s_rx7 06-12-06 02:46 PM

Damn you guys be getting some good azz gas mileage. I have microtech LT-8 and I even lean it out a lil' bit more to see if gas mileage will make a difference... I'm wandering will the HKS Twin Power help at all or not much of a difference....?
