3500 rpm idle?

So I've been going through trying to adjust my idle...but i can't make it go down... Less i set my rev limit on the pfc to under it.
Mods
power fc
simplified sequential(idled perfect before simplified sequential)
took everything off cept the icv
mid pipe and cat back
arc intake.

It idles smooth, can rev higher no problem... Just can't get the idle down

did you go through the idle setting procedure on the throttle body?

Air Bleed Screw, TPS adjustment, Dashpot (if required), etc...

oppa637 01-13-10 08:05 PM

Did air bleed screw. Haven't done the tps adjustment cause i can get to the screw, have to take the tb off i suppose. voltage is slightly high but would it make it idle that much higher? Also...nothings really touched the tps but would it go outta wack just from taking the throttle and uim off..

Check for a vacuum leak.

blown intake gasket?

grimple1 01-14-10 04:56 PM

Both of those sound like good candidates to me. Vacuum leak comes to mind initially.

Check the thermowax

I'll try spraying some brake cleaner everywhere.

Yes. After warmup your VTA2 voltage (narrow range sensor used for idle) should be 1.00 volts or less. You can actually physically rotate the fast idle cam with your finger and observe TPS voltage differences.

Also, if you eliminated the TB coolant hose you must remove the fast idle cam from the TB or use a zip tie to rotate it away. Otherwise you will have a high idle and high TPS voltage.

Please see this thread, especially posts #1,23,27,28 https://www.rx7club.com/3rd-generation-specific-1993-2002-16/how-make-your-untuned-pfc-basemap-safer-idle-better-no-datalogit-needed-841706/
