300ZX TT Fuel Filter on FD
 

i will be replacing and relocating my fuel filter soon and i would really like your input. i have heard the z32 300zx tt fuel filter flows very well and work better than some aftermarket fuel filters. my friends with gtr skylines pushing 460-600rwhp have no problems using them. does anyone have experience with this on their fd?

But why? Just replace with stock FD filter, zip tie that bitch below where the stock mount is and call it a day. No need to reinvent the wheel.

Aeromotive relocated on the subframe. Don't rig it, this isn't the ghetto.

Are the OEM ones lacking?

In my opinion the stock filter is poorly designed, I prefer NPT threaded connections, and I don't want to take a bath in gas when changing the filter. Aeromotive makes a good filter with a shut-off valve. http://aeromotiveinc.com/products-page/fuel-filters/
I also prefer fine mesh filters (10-40 micron), with the objective of keeping particulate out of the injectors. I believe the stocker is 100 micron, I could be wrong.

I'm not 100% sure on this, but I do remember reading it awhileback. Isnt the fuel filter the same as the ones used on the older Miatas?

They use them in drag cars, that's good enough for me. I've been running one for four years with no issues, but you do have to change the 40 micron filters every 5000 miles or so because they catch alot of crap, far more than a 100 micron.

my dilemma is no one carries the FD filter anywhere locally, also i can get oem 300zx filters for $15.

www.rockauto.com sells them as well. I have had great experience with them.

And yes, if you relocate, do it right. Zip tieing is an absolute joke..... Don't mess around with fuel people. It's important to our boosted engines, and really important not to have a leak and go down in the blaze of glory...not cool. ;)

Who cares about locally. Ray Crowe is your man. I made sure to stock up on some extras. I have 2 mazda OEM ones and another nippon denso one.
