:rlaugh: yes that is awsome!!!!!! :owned:
P.S. You'd be better off just having a 93-95 motor rebuilt.
lmao i can't believe u even hosted it, i wouldnt even have wasted my space:D
lol
whats so funny...its a question....why would i be better off rebuilding instead
This question has never been asked before in the history of this internet forum. You are the first to think of it. Congratulations, you win teh prize!!

Less money and effort involved to put it simply. The only advantages to the Series 8 (1999-2002) engine are external as all internal seals and all block components are unchanged from the earlier 13b-rew's. Mazda didnt make any actualy internal changes to the 13b until the Renisis was released in the RX-8's.
Some of the external changes are decent but would be hard to fit to current US models as they are greatly depending on the Series 8 wiring harness and 16-bit ECU which are designed to fit a RHD chassis not a LHD chassis. The turbos were unchanged except for the special edition Bathhurst models which carried Mazdaspeed CHRA's and the RZ and Spirit R models who had the upgraded snails with abraidable seals. The vacuum system changed greatly due to the high failure rate in the factory Series 6 setup (1992-1995 models) but doing the 'sequential simplification' resolves most of those issues anyways. The power steering pump was updated in 1997 and the emissions are slightly lightened on the motor. All 96+ motors had a factory downpipe with no pre-cat and didnt come with EGR. ~Kris |
I am lying to some extent. Mazda has changed the apex seals slightly on two occasions that I recal since the original seals that were offered in our motors... however these changes were available in US markets as well as everywhere else.

Getting an imported engine complete would definately be an improvement over the 93-95 motor, but that's due to the turbos, intake piping, and the change from the vacuum spider to the "vacuum brick" under the UIM. You'd need the JDM ECU to run it as well, I'd imagine.
Oh yea, since I have the Enfini pipe myself I often forget to mention that as one of the many changes un the 96+ engines.

not worth it, not a big enough difference, probably won't fit without all wiring( if at all), RHD/LHD, what company can get it? price? These are all possibilities that make it it not worth it. Get a built engine, or do the popular Renesis conversion.;)
ooorrrrr.... sell the car and buy a chicken truck and haul hen and cock back and forth from mexico.... that's good too.... :bigthumb:

I need to sell my RX-7 and buy a Honda. Apparently I can't keep up with the latest bling tactics. |
Naw see, you need to make a carbonfiber bulkhead and engine cover and do the NSX swap into the rear of your FD, and empty out the nose except for a radiator, fuel tank, and a giant bottle of NAWZZZZzzzz.
