1993 FD scrapped in Cash for Clunkers

The new CAR&DRIVER has a list of "some of the most desirable cars" destroyed in the CFC program.
One 1993 FD was destroyed.

old news but for all we know its was beat to hell and an auto, now if it was in decent shape i would cry, if i knew the dealer i would wiggle my way around the system and pay them for it but o well. better it goes this way than by some kid slamming it into something and killing them self.

Honestly I'm more surprised by the '91 M3. Beautiful cars.

I'd seen several similar articles but nothing that listed a 3rd gen until this.

It is crazy how many 'nice' cars got killed for this.

You know, there were a LOT of people who bought a new car and traded in something that ultimately didn't qualify for the rebate, and these people had to make up the difference in the price of the new car they'd bought.
Can you IMAGINE if you'd agonized over the decision and finally traded in your (FD), only to be told a month later that sorry....you owe us $5,000 if you want to keep that Fusion....oh, and by the way...we destroyed your old car already.
