1993 FD advice

Hi everyone,

I'm looking for a good 3rd gen RX-7, and I think that I may have found one, it's a 1993 Touring model that has just 34,500 miles on the clock. Supposedly near-perfect shape inside and out - it's being sold at a dealer and they had it thoroughly tested and inspected by a rotary-knowledgable mechanic. The dealer is asking $21,900 for it, does that seem like a good price or not? Is there anything specific that I should look out for if I go test drive the car?

thanks,
Matt

Take a boost guage with you to see if the turbos are boosting properly. That seems a little pricey to me i think 18,500 is about the highest i would go on a 93 i dont care how perfect it is, unless it has lots of upgrades.

It's way overpriced. Go to www.kbb.com and put in the mileage, zip code, and other info and see what the retail price is. If you really have to have that particular car use the Kelley Blue Book price as bargaining leverage.

Keep a couple of things in mind. Some banks won't make a loan on a car that old. That cuts down on the number of people who will be able to buy the car. Also we're in a recession, and winter is here. Sports cars don't sell well in winter. Those are two other big points in your favor. Don't be afraid to push for the price you want.
