1992-2002 Brake caliper difference's ?

hi guys. im just curious on what are the differences between USDM calipers vs JDM ones

which years use the same which years have bigger ones. how many variation are there

so far i only know of

usdm 93~95 same as jdm 92~96 ?

then theres RS caliper and RZ caliper ? is the RZ caliper same as the ones on spirit R? or are they all the same and there is only 2 different kind of caliper for FD? so lost

RZ and Spirit-R is the same, just different paint (black vs red)
Rear calipers are identical on all years, but the brackets are different on the RZ/Spirit-R.

what about the RS brakes? are they different then the RZ and spirit r?

so there is 3 variation of brakes then? usdm vs rs vs rz/Spirit R?

RZ/RS/Spirit-R are the exact same front caliper. As stated above the only difference is the Spirit-R are red in color. The Spirit-R also came with drilled rotors.

The rears are the same caliper, just the RZ/RS/Spirit-R have a larger mounting bracket that pushes the caliper outward to accommodate the larger brake rotor.

Both are made by sumitomo. They look similar but not identical.

So technically there are two different OEM front calipers and rotors. And two different OEM rear brackets and rotors.

The Japanese tend to call them "17 inch brakes", as they wont fit the OEM 16 inch wheels, and were only available on FD's with stock 17 inch wheels.

Here is a great thread on the Australian forum that goes into detail a bit more:
