Is 14psi dangerous with stock ecu?
 
Will that due much damage to the engine after prolonged use?

You have to upgrade many systems of the car to run 14 psi.

ecu: to provide the increase fuel necessary

injectors: your stock injectors will be maxed out, not a safe way to run long term

fuel pump: the stock fuel pump cannot reliably supply that much fuel, you should upgrade it

intercooler: the stock intercooler cannot handle 14 psi well

turbos: 14 psi is pushing the durability limit of the turbos

My fd runs 13 all the time and spikes up to 18-20ps when the transaction comes on . Is that dangerous on stock ecu or what ? :D

Not sure what that big smiley face is for, unless you have 4 grand to dump into a new motor. There's something wrong with your sequential turbo system if you're spiking that high at transition. You need to get to a rotary shop, and fast. The next time you spike that high, you may be on the side of the highway calling a tow truck.....

Yes. I hope you also have 4 grand laying around to dump into a new motor.

Check out the mods in my signature....*that* is how much more stuff you need to run 14psi, and even then the stock turbos are supposedly stressed and operating outside their thermal efficiency range.

No kidding, he really will be To_Slow pretty soon. You have undoubtedly already caused damage if those boost readings are correct. Prepare for a new motor and turbos. Don't people do any research before modding their car?

Dumb question: By transition, you mean when you switch from the 1st turbo to the 2nd one right?

This guy I bought the car from said he ran at 14 psi. I don't know how long...he took the boost controller out. Of course he told me this after I bought the car.

If the boost controller is taken out of the car should boost go back to stock 10-8-10? Note that all that was done is removal of the brain. The wire harness still exists.

IF the guy removed it and hooked all the vaccum lines back up exactly where they go, with no leaks, then yes. It should go back to stock.

That's my point. I don't think anything under the hood was touched. In this scenario what would you think the boost pattern would look like? 7/8-x-x ???

Actually, it doesn't switch to the 2nd turbo, the secondary turbo runs in conjunction with the primary.

A stock boost pattern is tested in 3rd gear at WOT, starting at 35 mph. You should read at least 10 psi until 4500 rpm, it will dip to 8 psi and then quickly recover to 10 psi. It will slowly drop-off to around 8 psi as you approach redline (at 100 mph).

I missed something. What do you mean "it doesn't switch to the second turbo"? My question was if when the boost controller was removed and none of the hoses, etc... were put back in stock form, what type of boost pattern would one expect to get?

If the hoses aren't put back correctly, you could get anything. If he has taken the pills out (if pills are used), you might possibly get something like 7-5-7.

That's called constructive criticism. Check out his (to_slow's) post--anyone that announces he's spiking to 20psi with a big smiley face and a seemingly rhetorical question pisses me off. If he *was* serious, I'm sure you can see where that will lead...blown motor, and yet another attack against the FD's reliability b/c of an uninformed owner.

Oh, and you sound like a pompous ass when you accuse me of being a pompous ass. No hard feelings :)
