13B-RE / Greddy Elbow. Oil filler neck options

Anyone got a solution for a good oil filler neck.

my fd has a 13-re uim with a greddy elbow and it sits too far forward for the fd oil filler neck to be installed.

running an fc oil filler neck but it’s a poor solution with minimal clearance and hacked flange.

many suggestions?

May want to check out IRP's stainless oil fill neck. That may give you some clearance.

What IC set up do you have?

I will check but if it’s the same orientation as stock it won’t work.

running a greddy vmount. My current elbow was slightly modded for an fmic before.

thanks.

Elite has a spacer that pushes the throttle body out to the stock location. That should give you the room.

thanks. I assume you mean the billet insert. Looks like it could work but then it seems like it will cover up some other items. (Fpr, oil filter etc)

anyone running it?

Check out the excessive oil filler found at Pineapple Racing.
I have the excessive LIM that moves the intake forward and with this oil filler neck works great. It comes with o ring and for $125.

I picked up an excessive about 3 months ago only to find it won’t clear. The problem was the elbow was shortened/angled before me.

that would work for sure. But I’m sure it’s a rare piece by now. Looks good.

maybe I should focus on a custom oil filler neck?

Dang... that sucks.. I can see it now from your pic. Definitely a custom filler neck would be cool.

I also added a 1/4” spacer between the UIM and the TB. The 1/4” clearance helped for me but also I used it to block off the ICV.

the rotary-works / cx-racing elbow has a different angle and may clear.

or the elite spacer

gotcha. at this point I think custom is probably easier. Elite spacer is a possible for sure but pricey given what I just went through on the car. Lol

It looks like a 1/4” spacer would be all you need to clear. I made mine out of 1/4 aluminum plate. I cut it with my wood working tools, mostly jigsaw. It wasn’t hard at all, just took a little time.

You are welcome to try my oil neck. Also you can clock the oil neck flange in the center plate. Its just pressed in. Heat it up with a torch and tap it from the side with a rubber mallet to turn it. If it comes out put some red locktite on it and tap it back in. https://www.irperformance.com/produc...l-filler-neck/

Thats a good point. I wasn’t aware it could be tapped. Prolly is the best option give. The clearance etc.

thanks

R/W clearance issue with strut bar

Aarkaah 09-08-20 09:27 PM

Yikes!

silverTRD 09-12-20 08:50 AM

Who needs a strut bar, right?

those are great pics that I’m sure will be helpful for lots of folks. :icon_tup:

I'm adding to my elbow collection! Recently ordered the HKS elbow from their v-mount from rhdjapan!
I like their routing, more gradual bend, better flow direction, but you have to relocate the fuse box. Looks similar but better that the rotary-works, more towards the strut mount and coming down under the strut bar. Once I test fit and choose one I will sell all the others :bigthumb:

TomU 09-15-20 02:06 PM

The issue looks like it's a combination of the elbow AND the UIM/LIM. The IRP neck clears the Greddy elbow with the stock rew manifolds
