10psi when cold and 6psi when hot:(

I just finished my non-seq conversion and have no emissions also. When I start my car in the morning (cold) and WOT it hit's 10psi (feels great) and then I slow down(cars) and WOT it again it will only boost 6psi. It will not do 10psi till it is cold again and it will only do it once.

It could be some kind of electrical problem. When it gets too hot the solenoid shorts out and vents boost.

I only have the fuel solenoid left and have a manual boost controler.hmmmmm

did it just happen after you went non-seq.? You might want to check those IC couplings, cause when that gets hot, it expands. The best way is to take them out and check for yourself, if you haven't upgrade yet..

Dude you have Duct Tape on your IC pipe of couse its gonna leakl!!!!!!!

adamrx7 09-21-02 11:40 AM

But if I can't duck it then F+++ it.:)

I'll check mt IC hoses again today.

Same thing happened to me... rip in my lower intercooler hose.

DUDE you live in Gens Falls, I grew up in Glens Falls, South Glens Falls, Lake George. NOw I'm in STL. My dad still lives in Glens Falls.

awe family reunion ;)

that doesn't sound like a problem with your IC coupling. in your post you said that when you back off and hit it again you only get 6-is that immediately after you back off or several minutes later?

What happens if you start it up (cold) and let it heatsoak in the driveway and then nail it? I doubt a single acceleration run will expose the ic coupling to enough heat to cause a 4psi drop in boost. When my coupling was leaking it did it all the time. It got worse when hot, but it was still quite noticeable when cold.

STL? St.Louis? Well I replaced both the intercooler hose and the water thermosensor and it fixed the problem. I couldn't stand it. My buddy got a firebird and I told him I could only race him once and it had to be when the car was ice cold like the first time you start it in the morning. I raced him twice though... Killed him the first time and then lost miserably the second because of 5-6psi.

Yep St.Louis, My car is the body shop this week so next week I wil check it out. But my car has alway done this.
