~Help boost spike 15psi with hallman boost controller!~
I just installed a Hallman pro rx boost controller to control my primary boost which was spiking at 12psi with the mods listed below. And I used a holley carb jet pill(0.65) to control the secondary turbos. Then I took the car for a drive, I was trying to see my boost pattern and the gauge read 15psi as soon as that it hit fuel cut. I made sure that the boost was turned down all the way - on the controller and still it spiked 15psi. I also capped off the two nipples on the rail and the ones on the bottom. Why is it doing this?
Thanks, Eric |

If I'm understanding you right, you put the Hallman controller in the pre-control line and a smaller pill in the wastegate line? Why would you do this? If the pre-control is completely closed, you will get very high primary boost. Put the pre-control pill back in and install the Hallman on the wastegate line. |
I did put the controller on the wg line and the pill on the precontroller line. I will double check it tomorrow to make sure.

Maybe a silly question, but the nipples you capped... Did you cap the nipples on both actuators? If that's the case, then the pre-control will never open and all exhaust goes to the primary. Also, you might want to check that you didn't accidentally close the boost controller, instead of opening it.

As above....
You should not be capping off the pre-control! Put the pre-control back to stock and try tuning your boost with the Hallman on the wastegate line. If you are still having pre-control issues (excessive dip/spike at transition), THEN start changing pill sizes in the pre-control. But you must not be blocking off the pre-control! |
I was under the impression that you could cap off both actuator vents, I am running 2 hallman MBC's with both vents capped off and it works fine.
|
If you're using two boost-controllers, then you would cap of both the nipples.
But in this case only one controller is used on the WG, and a pill is replaced for the PC. Nothing else associated with the PC should be altered. |
alright then, I will replace the pc back to how it was.
