jus wonderin waht the 0-60 time is for a stock 1993 RX7
for school projest

Mahjik 03-11-03 09:54 AM

Depends on where you look. I've seen times anywhere from 4.9 - 5.3.

DomFD3S 03-11-03 09:56 AM

Why don't you use the figures that Mazda provided in the 1993 RX-7 sales brochure? That way, it will be a direct quote from Mazda.

Engberg 03-11-03 11:02 AM

Mazda claimed 4.9, but i've never seen a number that low claimed by anyone else. I think the average 0-60 is 5.2

Dougie_fresh_007 03-11-03 04:21 PM

i agree but i heard 5.1 :)

jpandes 03-11-03 04:40 PM

I think I read in Motor trend 4.9 sec.

I wonder what my car will do 0-60 with all my mods....Any ideas. I guess I should just get out a stop watch.

Yes, the RX-7 brochure from Mazda quotes 0-60 in 4.9 seconds.

PVerdieck 03-11-03 07:02 PM

I think the problem with that figure was it was based upon the preproduction cars that a few of the auto-mags got to try.

Rx-7Addict 03-11-03 10:15 PM

5 seconds flat is a good number to use for comparison. Ive seen anywhere from 4.9 to 5.5 with most being in the very low 5 second range

mazdaspeed00 03-11-03 10:38 PM

how do u measure 0-60 anyway? is it launching the car and timing it untill the tach reaches 60?

Well, until the speedometer reaches 60, but you've got the general idea... :)

Dougie_fresh_007 03-11-03 10:43 PM

yup its like anything the second the car starts to move the clock starts, when it hits 60 the clock stops that time is the time for 0 to 60,... written by dougie fresh, master of all things obvious

Yeah what jim said, we might watch forever for the tach to hit 60 since the highest number on there is 9, lol.

mike172rg 03-11-03 11:21 PM

ok, but what about the auto's 0-60 times?

suprfast 03-11-03 11:29 PM

i have an idea. its off the topic, but lets see how long it takes for everyone to get 0-60 hits on the picture that PVerdieck is using as a sig. im sure we can get that faster than the 0-60 times we are looking for:)

Whoa! Nice Pic in your sig PVerdieck! :D :titty:

T88NosRx7 03-12-03 04:21 AM

I though it was like 5.7

OneBadRx7 03-12-03 03:57 PM

5.7 is a bit high T88. Anyways, how about posting pic of your car?

PVerdieck 03-12-03 08:24 PM

I aim to please :) Kudos to tomsrx7 for inspiration and some scripting help...

ttb 03-12-03 08:45 PM

5.7, you must be thinking of the new 350Z :p:

striker 03-12-03 08:50 PM

What school do you go to?

kwikrx7 03-12-03 10:33 PM

Auto FD 0-60 is low-mid 6s and 1/4 in 14.5 (poopy) - I remember the comparison between an auto FD, LT1 Camaro, and something else - the auto FD lost.

I think a overall average number to use for all manual stock FDs would be 5.2 since that's what I've seen the most.

Ka Kui 08-26-09 01:58 PM

From 4.9 secs to 5.2 secs, that's what I heard on a stock FD......
