*CONTEST*Lovin this board from a newbie

what up all I goota say this seems to be a really cool board I just bought a 94 a month ago and I have been learning alot from everyones posts....

Any way I am getting my car tuned tommorow At Millenium Autosports in Norfolk VA (757 what)

I wanted to see what numbers you all thought I would put down (prob wont be 500 I know )

MOds
Carbon fiber hood psych

T04r
race ported
big intercooler
1000cc primes and 1600's
supra pump
sweet aftermarket radiator
hks ign 10mm taylor wires ngk plugs
all sorts of pulleys
3in exhaust no cats
tial waste
Aem which will be installed tommorow
93oct

I wanna guess but I dont want to be disappointed... Car is running lovely less that 50 k on it know 5 on the motor

anything under 400hp I will cry and over 475 will cry for the opposite reasons holla back I want some input

TpCpLaYa 05-01-06 04:04 PM

how much boost...that usually changes a lot

snaponbrian500hp 05-01-06 04:06 PM

well how much can I run I was thinkin 17-19

rynberg 05-01-06 04:10 PM

Never heard of those guys....how much experience do they have tuning rotaries?

You won't be hitting much more than 420 on that fuel pump, methinks, maybe even a bit less if your wiring isn't 100%.

I wouldn't run more than 16 psi on pump gas alone, not if you care about motor longevity.

EDIT -- how are you driving the car now, if you aren't getting the AEM installed until tomorrow?

snaponbrian500hp 05-01-06 04:13 PM

the rails and injectors aren't in yet they are doing that too so i don't have to tow it

do you think the pump is what will hold me back the most ??? solutions???

snaponbrian500hp 05-01-06 04:17 PM

I want to the motor to last a year so I will push it but I def want it to live for the rest of the summer

rynberg 05-01-06 04:17 PM

You mean they are going to install a completely new fuel system, an ecu, AND try to tune it in one day? I would be worried....just how much rotary experience do these guys have?

The answer is to get a better pump. See the recent threads about the Apexi fuel pump.

Also, how are you controlling boost?

KaiFD3S 05-01-06 04:19 PM

I hope you have a 3 bar map sensor if you are planning to boost over 16 lbs

snaponbrian500hp 05-01-06 04:22 PM

they are a well respected shop around here more of an AEM expertise than rotaries but they do work on 7's and didn't shy away like most shops I talked to they apparently have a tuner there (forrest) who supposedly the shit according to everyone

3 hours to to put in the injectors and rails and the aem will 30secs to install plus at least 4 hours of tuning

dubulup 05-01-06 04:23 PM

BAP search 'howard coleman' and 'BAP' you should find it.

is there any kind of paypal pay out for this contest??? at least $10 to the closest...price is right rules, over is a BUST.

make worth our while, sucka. ;)

rotarypower101 05-01-06 04:57 PM

From the sounds of it, someone is going to loose their engine from being a little too GUNG HO.

I think a very experienced rotary guy would be hard pressed to get all that done in the time frame you have stated and get you down the road without issue.

Just take it easy and try to find people that are renowned for knowing the rotary in your area, and see if you can get some help from them.

It will be much better for you to take your time and understand what you are doing than prove that inexperience and rotarys don’t mix yet again.

snaponbrian500hp 05-01-06 05:10 PM

the tuning shop is straight it is going to be an all day job I don't know why you seem to think rails and injectors are going to take that long

the aem is quick I tried to put it in but couldn't get it to start b/c of timing I believe

anyways anyone have any more thoughts on the numbers it should run

Gorilla RE 05-01-06 05:33 PM

250rwhp....300rwho....350rwhp....400rwhp....450rwh p.........BOOOOM! 19psi is not going to

work for long with pump gas and no water injection. plus with that fuel pump you wont be

doing it either.

MAN maybe this board is about as queer as the rest

All you seem to get sometimes is pessimestic comments

if the car blows up it blows up

I won't be running 19lbs I am pissed that when I got that pump from the rx-7 store I told them what kind of power I was tring to get to...and they send me the Nippon denso pupra tt pump I just took there word

but besides that the car runs amazing except the lack of tuing

dgeesaman 05-01-06 06:01 PM

Good luck. If you're really not worried about the engine lasting, this should be interested. But definitely take your time - if any mistakes are made the engine's remaining life will be measured in seconds, not months.

Lupercal_CATS 05-01-06 06:02 PM

yea this board is pretty queer......

and everyone just gives pessimistic advice, no one is trying to be helpful. you should probably not take any of these queers advice..............

:wallbash:

rynberg 05-01-06 06:02 PM

Guys, I think he's a troll.....there are too many holes in the story. Either that or he's being taken for a ride.

How can you not care if you blow the engine on a 94 R2 with only 55k on the clock?
Oh, and BTW, maybe WE'RE not the queer ones....if you think every car forum is bad, maybe you should start looking in the mirror?

-Ryan- 05-01-06 06:04 PM

where in NC are you?

I moved to NC from Va beach and have been away for awhile but never heard of that shop.
I would def take it slow. maybe some light tuning. I wouldnt push it too hard. Let the car get used to the new fuel and boost then dyno tune it after awhile...

snaponbrian500hp 05-01-06 06:14 PM

troll ??? yea thats gotta be it what holes are you looking for

I for dammm sure don't want to blow the motor not this summer at least

all I asked is what hp I should make and all I get is take it slow you will blow yer motor

Have you put 1600s injectors in a FD before?
Have you even read what the issues are, and what is required to put in the 1600s?

Just give a brief detailed overview of what things you have in preparation for swapping out your injectors.

I can virtually promise you that you are not ready to put them in if the guys that you are going to have never done this before.

You can look at these posts as pessimistic, or you can realize them for experience and heed the warnings and perhaps learn something, or you can just be another noob that hates rotarys because they break too easy.

Do you honestly think this exact post has never come up before, and we don’t know the outcome?

snaponbrian500hp 05-01-06 06:20 PM

do you also realize that 90% of the rx-7 community does not visit this board because they don;t have questions or issues with every single thing they do ???

all I can say is the shop is an excellent one rotary specialist or not

I purchased the ultimate fuel system from the rx-7 store what have heard about that system

yuichiror 05-01-06 06:23 PM

Millenium Autosports is a reputable shop, though I don't know how much 7 work they've done. I'm going to be at CHKD(hospital), in Norfolk, to visit my son and try to get my car started and out of their garage. If you'd like and time permits, I wouldn't mind meeting you there to see how it goes. PM me your name and cell number.

rotarypower101 05-01-06 06:23 PM

Then prove us wrong.
Awaiting results……

I dont doubt that they are excellent but there are excellent shops around me that i wouldn't trust to touch my 7.

chinaman 05-01-06 06:24 PM

The guy is hardheaded so, why don't you guys just let him blow up his motor? I'm guessing you'll get 1,100hp! GO FOR IT!! YOU CAN DO IT!!
