$1500 to spend need advise
 

Well I got $1500 to spend on the car. is not much but I don't know for sure where to put in. I got the following things but not installed.
Pettit downpipe, block off plates and intake. Got a Greddy Evo CB and Defi boost gauge installed.

I was thinking of going with:
Koyo rad-359
AST-149
Greddy FMIC 899

$1500 downpayment on a corvette

what do I want that POS for.

corvette may have more hp but you see them everywhere. Fd are unique!!!

i'm of the opinion that after the basic mods its time to do the computer. not sure how much the pfc's go for nowdays though. the radiator is an excellent idea with our wonderful cooling problems. especially if you go frontmount with the ic. some wait til they get the ic though.

depending on what your preference is, you could just do the ast bypass, its alot cheaper and i dont hear of too many people having problems doing the bypass.

Water and oil temp gauges $320 or $400 installed.
3-row Mazdaspeed radiator $600
'99+ 5&7 blade radiator fans $100
Gas', nightclub and hotel room money left over.

PFCs go for 1300 bux new... so you can probably get that tuned too..

getting it tunned is the problem, I think. I live in the middle of nowhere.

Corvettes suck! And yea i'd get a PFC next, or a rad, or both!

Start a motor replacement fund. Every dollar I spend on parts, I match in the bank for a rebuild or to payoff the loan.

$1500 invested aggressively in a nice mutual fund will return you 100-171% (i forget the name of the fund).

Think about that. 12 months w/ that 1500 and you can roll out w/ 3500.

Yes it be cool but this is a bad time of the year. That's something you want to do before tax season. I got one already and when I did my taxes this year they help me get a better tax break and more refund. If I touch it then I can get taxed on it and loose more money. If I take it out before I file taxes then is a different story. This was explain to me by H&R Block

Power FC.

I was in your boat a few months back and bought the greddy frontmount. Its been sitting in my room for 4-5 months haha.

yeah I think I'm going with the Power FC and a Greddy Proffec so I can install this downpipe and intake I got laying around.

you crazy. I would have installed that FMIC in a heart beat! Let me barrow that FMIC!!:D

If you have the stock twins you don't need the boost controller; the PFC does a good job of controlling the seq system (imo). A friend of mine recently switched to the proffec and said it stayed at the max val more consistently, but was not significantly better.

Find a used PFC for around $1000-1100 (or order new from Greenline, Japan ;) ). With the money left over buy your Koyo rad

Is he better now? I believe I heard he was in a very nasty accident and was substantially injured.

Yea...he was run off the road by some truck...car took a beating, was totalled. He came out w/ minor scrapes and bruises, thank God. Just took a while for some of the bruises to heal. He's in perfect health now :)

EDIT: The car he totalled was his Honda, so you can breathe better now hehe. Wasn't an FD.

Well I'm going to need the boost controleer when I installed the down pipe and intake because the spikes.

This is only my honest opinion but f*ck the expensive electronic boost controller. Use the PFC to control boost(it should) and if for some reason it doesn't buy a simple bleeder valve at the home depot for $5.00. But that's just me, seems like a waste of money to buy the both of them.

Whatever money you have left after the PFC, spend it on a radiator, ast, or most importantly good boost/water temp gauges if you don't have them. Also a short shifter is another good mod.

True, but it's not as readily visable as a gauge. PFC's screen is pretty damn small if you ask me!

Sidenote: can you get your PFC to display boost in psi, not bar?
