NY 1994 Mazda RX-7 Montego Blue Base model, New Motor/Turbos / 3.5k miles / Modded

Year: 1994
Make: Mazda
Model: RX-7
Price: $28000
Mileage: 3500
Color: Montego Blue
Private or Dealer Listing: Private Listing
Location (US State/Canada/Int): NY

FOR SALE!!

1994 Mazda RX-7 Base Model, New Motor/Turbos / 3.5k miles / Modded

DETAILS:
Iím the 5th owner of the car. Ive had the car for almost 2 years, and during that time Iíve completely overhauled the drivetrain. Car has always been a Texas car, until I brought it to NY. It has never seen snow and always garaged. The body has ~160k miles. The motor had a cracked seal when I bought it. I had a new engine and 99 spec turbos put in @ IRP in jersey (Expert Shop/Good Guys). The car has a list of mods. Prime candidate for BNR stage 3 or single.

THE BAD:
The interior and paint need work (Its almost 25yrs old). There are a few minor scratches and dings on the paint. Most notable is on the front and passenger side fender. I was parked in a valet garage for a short few months and they didnít take the best care when it came to parking. It can be easily buffed out. The passenger fender has a paint chip and some surface rust. The painting of the door handles (interior) and the added door speakers were done by previous owners. I never got a chance to change them out. The dash odometer display has stopped working, backlight still works, but there is no way to check the mileage. I have recent records of the car when the build was completed last january, but its been a weekend car ever since. The power steering has a leak, but should be fixed by time of sale.

Car dynoíd 350-360 WHP on a mustang dyno @ IRP (Dyno'd in August after break-in period started at the end of January.)

The only reason why Iím selling it is because my living situation has changed and now need the money.

This car needs a warm home.

This is a base model, not an R2. R2 was never offered in MB. It also has the base model seats. Still a great looking hard top FD. GLWS.

Sry... It is a base model then. I believed the R2's were all versions made in 94 w/o a sunroof. My mistake. Still looking for any offers. Need the car sold soon.

Did you buy this one from Houston, by chance? I believe I remember seeing it on Craigslist just over a year ago.

I am not in any way trying to be disrespectful so please be be patient with me as I am trying to learn. I am looking at a 1993 FD in MB with 160k miles on the chassis. I see an extensive mods list and am trying to figure out what makes this a $28,000 car. Is it the new OEM engine? Is it simply the quality of the build? Are there mods in there that are exceedingly rare? Either way that is a fantastic looking car.

I'm pricing it as is, because of the new engine and the quality of the build. Its very much turn key. To be honest, i don't expect to get what i put into it. Just trying to sell. Please make an offer. Open to all.

Cheers!

GLWS free bump

It really hurts my brain trying to understand why people cannot seem to see the money that gets put into building these cars right. It's as if people forget how much labor and quality parts cost......

Best of luck with the sale

Great looking car man. Just some friendly advice, donít drop your price any further. RX-7ís just donít sell quickly. Thatís partly down to the fact that theyíre often times cash buyers only and there just isnít that many people who can afford them who also have the interest.

If you want good value for your car you have to be patient. Otherwise youíre gonna keep dropping the price till it becomes a no brained for someone to buy it and flip it.

Stick it out man.

Good luck.

Nick

Can you post up some recent pictures of the engine bay. Just want to check out the greddy vmic. Did you buy the vmic new, did you get the engine from Ray and did IRP do all the work?

Best of luck!

That is the most recent pic. taken like a month ago. The greddy kit came with the car, but they didn't tune it for the mods that were on it, so they motor blew a seal, but when the new motor went in, we tuned it with the FC for the mods. Pretty slick setup. Yup...new engine, install and tune by IRP. I can take more pics shortly.

Gotcha. That's not a vmic that's your standard large smic.

Yes, but it looks like either an M2 or Pettit - the largest and ďbestĒ SMIC you can buy...he got them mixed up but itís still a very high quality piece.
