CA 1994 Brilliant Black R2 / 25k Original Miles / LS3 + TR6060 + Cobra 8.8

Year: 1994
Make: Mazda
Model: RX-7
Price: $70000
Mileage: 25500
Color: Brilliant Black
Private or Dealer Listing: Private Listing
Location (US State/Canada/Int): CA

The time has come. After 5 long years of ownership to which I spent dutifully upgrading this RX-7 at a relentless and uncompromising pace, I now believe that the time is right to move on. As ironic as it sounds, with the car now in a state of such completeness, I feel like I have reached an impasse of sorts.

Please take a moment to carefully read over all of the details and understand the level and caliber I tried to take this car to.

This RX-7 has been executed to an extremely detailed and high level, and thus should not be compared unequally. I have spent a total of $120K in this car and I am asking $50K less, minus the time and monumental effort. I will breakdown a few key items: The engine swap and drivetrain upgrade was $30K after all of the custom fabrication and install work. The combined paintwork was $12K+ (PAINT only, not even talking about the parts). The interior has $15K in it alone. Add that up and we're at $57K... not including EVERYTHING else... and not including the CAR ITSELF.

So with that said, whoever buys this is getting incredible value. If I tried to build this car again today, I couldn't. Not only due to the lack of time but because many of the rare parts that I have amassed are simply too difficult to obtain again.

Another unique benefit is that I have cataloged everything done to the car to excruciating detail, which you can read all about here: Rx-7 | Grand Mighty

This kind of documentation is uncanny with a modified car. You can read all about my OCD and how I had to redo certain things 3, 4, or 5 times before I got it right and was content. There is also an abbreviated build thread here on this forum: https://www.rx7club.com/build-thread...ct-r2-1009458/

HIGHLIGHTS: 25K ORIGINAL MILES Brilliant Black R2 Model. Clean Title. Clean and consistent CarFax history. LS3 Swap, not a LS1, not a LS6... a Gen IV, modern, 6.2L V8. TR6060 Transmission, not a T56... a significantly better shifting, triple syncro'd, updated model. Cobra 8.8" Rear End with Ford Racing LSD, Driveshaft Shop Axles, and Custom Driveshaft Shop Aluminum Driveshaft with Billet CV Joint. This was an expensive swap with zero shortcuts. Repainted with a high quality 2-stage PPG Global Brilliant Black, not the 90s Mazda single-stage paint.

This RX-7 makes 427 RWHP and 429 FT/LBS and is sorted and reliable. I can let it sit for 2 weeks, hop in, turn the key, and go anywhere. All temperatures are perfect. It is scary fast, and what's even scarier is that the engine is still essentially uncorked with much more to go. I can climb a hill in 6th gear at 1000RPM, and still accelerate... and I can light the tires up on demand with the throttle.

Price is $70K for everything you see.
$60K without the wheels, seats, and LED Tails.
$50K can be accomodated with removal of a few more parts.

Selling the car as a stripped roller with clean title and carfax is possible too.

ALSO open to Trades to unique vehicles of equal value.

Serious Buyers only. Located in Bay Area, CA. Please PM me or email me directly at eric [at] grandmighty.com

I can sell the car for 60k without the seats, wheels, and taillights.
I can also take some more parts off to reach 50k.

Sounds like he will! Seats, tails and wheels. 10 grand.

I'm usually the 1st one to heckle people selling their RX-7s for over $35K or so, but this is a special car. I've seen the way Farkel builds and takes care of his cars, and I'm sure this is one is near flawless.

Unless you're a rotary purist, this car is as perfect as they come. Imagine someone busting it out of a barn in 50 years. Holy Grail status.

I cant even think of another FD that would have more attention to detail than this one... Eric is crazy and will replace anything with any sort of little blemish immediately. Truly the definition of someone doing it right.

Thank you all for the kind words, that means a lot. It was a heavy and deliberate choice to offer this car up for sale. If you asked me to sell it a few months ago, I would have said no. Even if you waved 50-60k in front of me. I have actually turned down a couple people in the past, who reached out to me directly inquiring about purchasing the car. They were people ready to purchase and had fair offers, as well.

And more importantly, I'm pleased that people here can appreciate the detail and level of work performed. You guys have a good eye and know the difference. My aspirations were to execute a vision and product with unyielding compromise. I know the car is expensive, but that's where the premium lies. Admittedly, I would LOVE to buy a car from myself... but of course, vouching for myself in my own for sale thread doesn't mean a lot

Even at $70k, I am losing a ton, which has been outlined already. Which is why I've been so hesitant to even consider selling the car until now. But there are life choices to be made. With that said, I really do not have to sell and I'm not even that motivated to sell, I'm just putting it out there.

Rich, if the V8 bothers you that much, I can rip it out no problem and you can buy everything else to throw a Rotary back into

Pictures don't do this car justice. I love seeing the car in person and it's worth every penny (IMO). Even though I don't want you to sell it Eric, good luck with the sale. Remember, if you decide to sell the seats and diffuser, I'm very interested Also, you have to take me on a drive in this thing before you sell it

If anyone is interested in the car as a roller/stripped shell with the clean title and low mileage R2 package and 12k paintwork, PM me. I am considering parting the whole shebang out.

Actually I take that back, not going to part out. Can't bring myself to do it and rip this car apart. Selling the car complete and can remove a few parts if necessary. Send offers!
