WA 1993 black on black FD touring project / roller

Year: 1993
Make: Mazda
Model: RX-7
Price: $13500
Mileage: 35000
Color: Black
Private or Dealer Listing: Private Listing
Location (US State/Canada/Int): WA

I'm moving to a smaller home, so I'm regrettably offering a black on black completely stock
1993 RX7 FD touring model project for sale.

There are no missing parts outside of the OEM plastic engine undertray, engine crossbrace and Bose hatch rear speakers. An unmounted aftermarket engine undertray will be included.
This project FD requires an engine rebuild on the stock low mileage 1995 13B shortblock, minor electrical attention, and re-titling once reassembled.
The engine is already pulled with the transmission still in the car. Removed engine bay mounting hardware is all bagged and labelled for easy re-assembly.
Based on a compression test, the rear rotor needs an apex or side seal, and possibly more ... given the amount of time since the engine has been run.
The shortblock has been stored in a warm dry basement with 2 cycle oil rotated around housings every few months.

There are no collision accidents in the car's history, outside of a number of small parking lot door dings that could probably be sorted by a paintless dent removal service.
The car has remained untitled since a 2006 insurance claim writeoff, due to an interior fire set through the open sunroof on the passenger seat, when owned by the previous owner.
Interior has been completely remediated and replaced, outside of eventually requiring a professional sunroof surround paint refinish. Heat damaged sunroof surround paint was block sanded, primered and resprayed using rattle cans to avoid rusting.
The sunroof center panel was replaced.

Based on licensing title history, the car is believed to have between 35k-50k original miles.
The 2nd owner's title shows 35k miles before car was written off and parked the following year.
The car has not been titled or driven since written off in insurance claim, so I haven't been able to drive it beyond one 3 day temporary permit to assess what needed attention.
In addition to an engine rebuild the following electrics require attention to complete the restoration. Driver's side power window (most likely poor main switch contact, since other window works OK.)
Passenger rear signal light, driver side marker lights and headlight retractor switch are not working at the moment, but headlights turn on and flip up + down when headlight connectors are powered directly.
Air Conditioning system has not been recharged. Airbag not connected, but was not deployed.

Everything else works as it should.
Steering + brakes + suspension + fuel system + transmission show no signs of degradation or need for attention.
Original factory BB black paint finish (everywhere other than the aformentioned roof surround)
is in good condition.
The car has been stored in a dry carport for the past 9 years, and is rust free.

I replaced the transmission rear seal, replaced transmission fluid with Red Line fluid.
New coolant hoses, new fuel filter is installed.
Mounted new Falken tires, There were no oil leaks when parked or when it was briefly driven.

Driver's leather seat door side bolster is showing some wear, but bottom portion of the seat is OK.
I suspect that worn bolster piece could be replaced, and the seat would be as new,
like the passenger seat is. The rest of the interior looks very clean. Carpets show no wear.

I'm not desperate to sell, and not interested in parting the car out,
just seeking fair market value for both the buyer + seller.
Asking $13,500 or nearest offer, for the complete car, with the uninstalled engine, as is.
Willing to deduct 13B engine core value if you don't want a rotary engine for your project.
I have a hoist available for loading the pulled shortblock if required.
Canadian inquiries are welcome, as I am much closer to Vancouver BC than to Seattle.

Please use private messages for inquiries.

I have a few spare parts available, including an aftermarket aluminum CAI,
an OEM JDM downpipe, boost + temp gauges + dash speaker gauge pod, aluminum AST,
and spare low mileage twin turbos, a spare OEM polyurethane nose, all negotiable.

An Experian Autocheck record reports mileage to be 96,736 about 2 years before the car was written off and parked.
The odometer was replaced so I cannot confirm actual miles. The previous owners title reported the most recent mileage
to be 34,343 but the Autocheck record lists that mileage as the date the previous owner purchased the car from the original owner.

I'm reducing my asking price to $8,500 to reflect this change in estimated actual mileage.
Everything else in my description is believed to be accurate.
