Partnering with a company on a build and getting a deal in return for advertising is nothing new. So I'm not sure why that is a surprise to anyone or why anyone would even have an issue with it. YouTube is just the latest mechanism for it. Companies have been doing this forever, regardless of the quality of their product.

The issue with poor workmanship and getting ripped off is separate.

How dense can you possibly be?

clearly the issue is taken with the promotion of a company despite the fact that they are proven thieves

I'm not saying anything about your issue. What I'm commenting on is all the posts acting like they've never heard of someone getting a deal in return for advertising. This is not something new just because of YouTube vloggers. It's been around in many different forms for years. People seem to take offense to someone doing it, which is basically jealousy as most people are happy to get a deal if offered.

I'm not saying you shouldn't be mad about getting ripped off, and I'm not saying you shouldn't try to do something about it and also prevent it from happening to others. Chill out.

I don't know of any single company that hasn't had a transaction go south. I'm no PPRE fanboy and have never bought anything from them and likely never will. But most big name shops have a few horror stories and also a ton of happy customers. I don't know why anyone is surprised here.

Genuinely happy for the kid as his nearly year-long build is close to completion. Very nice looking finished product; especially compared to the start. In the meantime, he managed to pick up a low mileage JDM Supra for his next little project.
